injured griffon released after treatment in Turkey

A giant griffon vulture of the Southeastern Anatolian Taurus Mountains, which was injured in the rural area of Şanlıurfa, was released back to nature after 3 months of treatment. The vulture enjoyed its freedom by soaring through the air on its enormous wings in the steep, rocky area within the Adıyaman borders where the Euphrates River and the Southeastern Anatolian Taurus Mountains meet.

Griffin vulture, one of Turkey’s 4 vulture species, is the largest vulture species after black vulture. The griffon vulture, which lives in rocky and steep areas, is under protection because it is among the endangered species.
