Mount Ararat, the Turkish mountain sacred to many religions, continues to attract foreign mountaineers. The most recent visitors to the mountain were a group of Russian and British mountaineers. This daring group climbed to 3,200 meters and spent the night there. Resuming their ascent at night, the climbers reached the summit after 6 hours.

The death toll from the July 4 floods in Texas, USA, has climbed to 131, with 97 people still missing. Governor Greg Abbott said most fatalities occurred in Kerrville, particularly at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp. Search efforts continue in the Guadalupe River area.
