Haj Ali Darvish tea hosue is considered the world’s smallest tea house that serves hundreds in Iran’s capital Tehran. The tea house is on the national cultural heritage list of Iran, and has a history of 103 years. Haj Kazem Darvish has been operating the store for the last 70 years after taking it from his father Haj Ali Darvish, who founded the store in 1918 on an area of less than two square meters. “If I have the opportunity, I would like to open a branch of my teahouse in Turkey as well.” Darvish said. Stating that they were adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Darvish said, “We changed our tea glasses during the corona virus period. These cups are not harmful to health and are resistant to hot water. Because of health protocols, we give our customers nabat –local candy- instead of sugar cubes, so no one touches them,”
