Caspian Airlines’ Boeing 737-400 passenger plane, coming from Mashad in Iran, skidded off the runway after landing at Isfahan Airport due to a technical malfunction in the landing gear. The wheels were broken after landing at the airport, which caused the plane to skid off the runway, authorities said. There were 110 passengers on board the plane, and five of them were slightly injured in the stampede during emergency evacuation.
Iran is unable to meet the technical maintenance and spare parts needs of passenger planes due to US sanctions.
