The death toll from the powerful 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes that struck Myanmar on March 28 has risen to 3,145, according to the country’s military administration. At least 4,589 people were injured and 221 remain missing.

The central city of Mandalay was hit hardest, with over 2,000 confirmed dead and extensive structural damage. Authorities reported that more than 22,000 buildings—including homes, schools, monasteries, and hospitals—were destroyed. A total of 68 aftershocks have been recorded as search and rescue operations continue.
