Iran’s New President Pezeshkian Receives Certificate of Election

Masoud Pezeshkian, who became the country’s new president in the second round of the 14th Iranian Presidential Elections, held after the former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi died, received his certificate of election at a ceremony held at Imam Husseiniyya in the capital Tehran.

Thanking the voters who elected him, Pezeshkian said, “I promise before the people and our religious leader that I will rule with justice and fairness, serve the people with all my being and continue the path of those who were martyred on this path,” in his speech.

“The Iranian nation has elected a new president in a way befitting them. His speech here was also extremely meaningful, profound, and in line with Islamic principles. May Allah help him and we will support him in governing the country as much as we can.” said the country’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

Pezeshkian will take the oath in Parliament on Tuesday, July 30, and will form his cabinet within 2 weeks and submit it to the parliament for a vote of confidence.
