Three armed drones targeted Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s home two of which were shot down and one of which impacted the house. In the incident, Al-Kadhimi was uninjured. Following the murder attempt on al-Kadhimi, security in Baghdad was reinforced to the greatest degree possible, and army forces took to the streets. Al-Kadhimi claimed to know who was behind the assassination attempt and that he will reveal the identity of the perpetrators soon. He stated that some intended to destabilize Iraq’s security, despite his government’s efforts to keep the country out of a regional conflict.
