The Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) introduced its five candidates in Erbil, capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, ahead of next month’s general elections. The event drew Turkmen leaders, party representatives, and citizens, highlighting unity and stronger political representation.
ITF Vice President Hashim Bayraktar said the November 11 vote is “an opportunity to prove the Turkmens’ presence in Iraq and the region,” urging high voter turnout.
Aydın Maruf, ITF Political Bureau member, stressed coexistence and peaceful participation, while candidates vowed to defend Turkmen rights in Baghdad. Candidate Vefa Fazıl said, “I’m running to prove the existence of Turkmens. We are the third nation in Iraq and will continue to stand strong.”
