A ceremony was held in Bahrain’s capital Manama for opening Israel’s embassy as a “Big and historic step in the gulf” region. Israel’s foreign minister Yair Lapid said “I hope both nations will live in peace and prosperity forever. Today Israel has taken a great and historic step in the Gulf. The opening of the embassy is a symbol of our political cooperation. We have also agreed to open the Bahrain embassy in Israel by the end of the year” in the opening ceremony.
In his first visit to Bahrain, Israeli foreign minister met with King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa thanking him of “historic hopeful meeting”.
Earlier in mid September 2020, in a bid to normalize the relations between two countries, former U.S. president Donald Trump mediated an agreement that’s signed in the White House.
