Israel raided the house of Palestinian prisoner Israa Al-Jaabis, whom it released after 8 years, on the night of the 3rd day of the 4-day humanitarian pause with Hamas. Israeli forces, who raided the house with a large team, kept the journalists and Jaabis’ relatives waiting outside the house away with harsh interventions.
Israa Al-Jaabis was convicted in 2015 of injuring an Israeli police officer by detonating the gas canister in his car at the checkpoint and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. The picture of Jaabis, who suffered burns on his face and lost several fingers after the explosion, is frequently used in demonstrations and to express the pain of Palestinian prisoners.
