Israeli media reported that Turkish hackers leaked the personal phone number of Defense Minister Israel Katz and even placed a video call to him. A screenshot of the alleged call circulated on social media before the number was deactivated.
Following the leak, Katz reportedly received thousands of hate messages and death threats. Media outlets noted that his number had been exposed before but that he had continued to use it for years.
