Israeli settlers set fire to a Palestinian home in the town of Sinjil in Ramallah, in the central West Bank, in the morning. The owner of the house, 35-year-old Ahmad Maher Awashreh, said that he and his children were saved before the flames engulfed the house, thanks to the people around.
More than 650,000 Israeli settlers illegally occupy parts of the West Bank in violation of international law.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that Russia officially recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The statement followed backlash over Russian Vice President Vladimir Medinsky’s remarks referring to the region as “disputed.”
Zakharova clarified that Medinsky was discussing the humanitarian aspect of the conflict and urged against misinterpreting his words. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry criticized Medinsky’s comments and reminded that Russia’s official stance recognizes Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory.
