Israel launched an airstrike this morning on Al-Mawasi, a previously declared safe zone where displaced civilians’ tents are located in the city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. According to local sources, at least 20 tents caught fire in the area and at least 40 civilians were killed and 60 injured. However, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that only 19 people were killed.
“After the bombing, people started to flee and abandoned the tents covered in blood. Ambulances that arrived transported the wounded and martyrs who were in panic and fear to hospitals,” stated Palestinian Omar Nassar, also mentioning that Israeli planes attacked while people were sleeping and that some of his relatives were also killed.
