The water levels in the 10 dams supplying Istanbul have dropped significantly due to ongoing drought conditions. While the average dam occupancy stood at 81% in March, recent data shows a sharp decline to 30.87%.
Kazandere Dam in Kırklareli’s Vize district saw its water levels fall from 70% to 10.49%, and Papuçdere Dam dropped from 77.04% to just 7.34%. The declining reserves underscore the region’s growing water scarcity challenges.
