Restoration work continues at one of Istanbul’s iconic landmark Maiden’s Tower. The restoration was initiated by Ministry of Culture and Tourism last September, and it is expected to be completed in April 2022. Within the scope of restoration works, the roof over the courtyard will be removed. The courtyard and the ground will be restored to the original material determined in the historical records. The final version of the Maiden’s Tower was viewed from the air.

In Hatay, Türkiye, excavator operator Bülent Kuyucu paused work for 27 days to protect a dove’s nest on his machine. Kuyucu did not work to avoid disturbing the birds until the dove chicks safely flew away.
Kuyucu said he accepted the financial loss but was happy to see the doves leave unharmed.
