Japan Supports Palestinians’ Efforts to Establish Independent State

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa made pro-Palestinian statements at a press conference held in the capital, Tokyo. Stating that she supports the two-state form of government as a solution to the war between Israel and Hamas, the minister said, “We understand Palestinians’ goal of establishing an independent state and support their efforts in this regard.” Kamikawa also stated that Japan will continue its efforts to establish trust between the parties, to reduce tension in the region and improve the humanitarian situation.
