In Japan, where masks are still being used after the COVID-19 epidemic although there is no requirement imposed by the state, citizens are receiving training to improve their smiling ability, which began blinding over time.
Keiko Kawano, the founder of the smiling education center Egaoiku, said that many people smile less in the past three years and some even forgot how to do it, adding that they have difficulties in social life as they dread to open their masks and show their faces. Kawano said that they focus on moving facial muscles correctly during the training.
