Sakura (cherry blossom) trees, which symbolize the arrival of spring in Japan and are one of the most important symbols of the country, created a visual feast and attracted numerous visitors.

“It’s a wonderful day. We really liked the cherry blossoms. We will definitely come back this season to see the sakuras. It’s quite crowded. There are a lot of tourists in the Sensoji Temple and this area nearby,” said Canadian Dave Muray.

“I wanted to take a photo wearing a kimono. I also came to see the sakuras. I chose Sumida Park because it’s a place where I can easily do both. The cherry blossoms look really beautiful,” Hana Kimura from Japan.

“We came here with my friends to have a picnic because it’s close. The Sakuras are very beautiful, they will be even more beautiful in a few days,” said Ari Yamazaki, another domestic tourist.
