An arrest warrant has been issued for the former Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, during the hearings yesterday.
In the Toshakhana case, opened on charges of selling state gifts and concealing assets, the judge issued an arrest warrant that prevents Khan from being released on bail because he did not attend the hearing. In cases brought against Khan for terrorism and committing attempted murder and bribery against a rival politician, judges granted “temporary bail” for Khan, which prevents him from being detained for a certain period of time.
Being in the capital Islamabad for the first time since he was shot in the leg at a rally in November last year, The 70-year-old Khan was greeted by thousands of his supporters. Meantime, the tension occasionally rose between the security forces and Khan’s supporters throughout the union.
