Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tehran could consider cooperation with Washington only if the US completely ends its support for Israel, withdraws regional military bases, and stops interfering in regional countries’ affairs.
Speaking at an event marking the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran, Khamenei described the day as one that “exposed the true nature of US hegemony.” He said US hostility stems from losing its dominance over Iran after the Islamic Revolution and that “the solution to many problems lies in being strong.”
