Eleven civilians were injured, one critically, in a Russian missile attack targeting a hotel in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv city late Wednesday night, local officials confirmed.
Governor Oleg Sinegubov reported two S-300 missiles striking the hotel, housing 31 individuals at the time, around 10:30 PM local time. Nine injured were hospitalized, with two treated on an outpatient basis. A 35-year-old victim sustained critical injuries, raising concerns about potential fatalities.
The attack caused significant damage to the hotel, rendering parked vehicles unusable. Notably, police chief Volodimir Tymoshko emphasized that the hotel has no history of housing military personnel and is frequented by journalists, casting doubt on Russia’s potential justifications for the strike.
