On Hawaii’s Big Island in the United States, Kilauea Volcano has erupted for the 37th time since December 2024, sending lava fountains up to 120 meters. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said the activity remains confined to the Halemauma crater inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Most recent eruptions have been short, often lasting less than a day. Kilauea’s 2018 eruption destroyed more than 700 homes over three months.
