The “Kite Festival”, prepared by the teachers working at the Oğulveren Secondary School on the Turkey’s Iran border located at 35 kilometers from the Başkale district of Van, held on the Iranian border on May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Kites purchased with the cooperation of Başkale District Governorate and the municipality, were distributed to the students. Soldiers at the Çaldıran Gendarmerie Station assisted the students in preparing the kites in the event area. Governor and Deputy Mayor Asım Solak flew kites with the children and said that the happiness in the eyes of the students was worth seeing. In addition, Solak stated that the event was more enthusiastic after the Covid-19 pandemic.
