To highlight the tragic casualties resulting from Israeli attacks of Gaza and West Bank, the Korean public placed 2,000 pairs of shoes in a square in Seoul, South Korea’s capital. The demonstration also urged an immediate ceasefire amid ongoing conflicts.
“We have been standing in front of the shoes that symbolize those who were killed in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank during the Israeli occupation for more than 75 years. These shoes will show that deaths are not just numbers,” said Han Soo-young, a demonstrator.
