Kurdistan Democratic Party Uses Turkish Posters In Iraq Election Campaign

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), led by Masoud Barzani, has drawn attention by using Turkish-language posters for the first time in its campaign for Iraq’s November general elections. The yellow posters, displayed across Erbil, feature the slogan “Partnership, Balance, and Harmony” in Turkish alongside the party logo. The move was welcomed by the Turkmen community. KRG parliamentarian Müna Kahveci said it reflects Barzani’s commitment to coexistence and Turkmen rights, adding, “The use of Turkish shows that Turkmens’ rights are protected just like their Kurdish brothers.” She called for similar posters to be placed in Turkmen-majority areas such as Kirkuk.
