La Sagrada Familia, hailed as a global architectural gem and Antoni Gaudi’s magnum opus, is nearing completion, with expectations to remove the iconic crane by 2026. This basilica, a must-see for tourists in Barcelona, Spain, captivates with its grandeur and the unique sight of cranes framing its silhouette.
The journey of ‘La Sagrada Familia’ began in 1882, funded by public contributions and envisioned by Gaudi as a magnificent masterpiece. However, tragedy struck when Gaudi, known for his intricate architectural style, met a fatal end in 1926, crushed by a train while admiring his art. His burial within the unfinished basilica added to the mystique surrounding the project, which remained an architectural enigma for 141 years.
