After the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes in Türkiye’s Kahramanmaraş, the two mountains between İdilli and Değirmencik Neighborhoods in Gaziantep’s İslahiye district approached one another. As massive pieces of rock and soil from the mountains flowed into the road, it was entirely closed to traffic.
A natural lake was formed in an area previously used as a road and picnic place. Power poles and trees were also submerged in the area.
