landslide bury dozens of household in Peru, 7 gone missing

According to the National Police, 7 people have gone missing including 3 children, and about 80 houses have been buried in the Peruvian province of Pataz following a landslide caused by heavy rains in the region. “I have arranged for the head of the National Civil Defense Institute and the Minister of Defense to go to the area affected by the landslide in the province of Pataz, in the La Libertad region,” Peruvian President Pedro Castillo said on Twitter. “We will provide assistance to the affected families and work with the local authorities to coordinate various actions.”
