Landslides that occurred in the Bulambuli region in eastern Uganda as a result of heavy rainfall caused at least 40 houses in 6 villages to be buried under the groun. Search and rescue efforts were initiated in the area and 15 people had been found dead so far. Authorities said that 113 people were still unaccounted for and that they expect the death toll to increase.
