Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, announced that 8 people died in the landslide caused by heavy rain on Ischia Island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Italy.
While some houses were wrecked, many vehicles were swept away by the flood waters. Some roads were closed due to mud and debris.
Citizens in the area are facing power and water cuts.
At least 100 people are stranded in parts of the island that are not yet accessible. Fire department stated that the search for the missing persons is continuing.
