Lightning struck a beach in Aquila, in the Mexican state of Michoacan, while it was crowded with people. Two people whom the lightning directly struck died. After the incident, local authorities warned tourists in the region to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions and advised them to take shelter in safe places.
Russian Presidential aide Nikolay Patrushev announced that President Vladimir Putin signed the draft strategy for the development of the Russian Navy through 2050.
Patrushev stated that the final draft was signed on May 30, following its preparation by the Ministry of Defense and revision by the Maritime Board. The strategy incorporates proposals from various federal institutions and organizations. The initiative was launched after a Kremlin meeting in July 2024.
