Moscow shuts shops, schools and restaurants for 11 days to stop a surge in coronavirus infections and deaths. All non-essential services, including retail outlets, restaurants, and sporting and entertainment venues will be closed until November 7. Only shops that sells food, medicine and other essentials will remain open.
In Russia, 1,159 people died and 40,096 people have been infected in the past 24 hours, and means a daily record since the start of the pandemic.
