Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that she has fired Fire Chief Kristin Crowley for “sending thousands of firefighters home and refusing to prepare an after-action report on the fires” on the day the deadly forest fires in the state began.
Bass has temporarily appointed former Deputy Fire Chief Ronnie Villanueva as Los Angeles Fire Chief after Crowley.
The massive fires killed 29 people and caused an estimated $250 billion in property damage.
