Low Temperatures Claim 39 Lives in Afghanistan

The death toll due to the extreme cold has reached 39 in Afghanistan. According to Mullah Janan Saeqthe, spokesman for the national disaster authority, the extreme conditions also injured 30 others and destroyed 637 houses. Meanwhile, a total of 13,889 cattle froze to death.
