French President Emmanuel Macron cautioned that any attempt to change the regime in Iran would trigger chaos in the Middle East.
Speaking at the G7 Summit in Canada, Macron responded to US President Donald Trump’s remark that he had no plans “for now” to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Macron stated, “Any attempt to change the regime in Iran would lead to chaos in the Middle East.”
He also highlighted Trump’s role in restarting diplomacy with Iran, adding, “I believe that the US President is in favor of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.”
