A 24-hour strike by public and ground handling workers at 11 German airports has led to the cancellation of over 3,400 flights, affecting more than 510,000 passengers. The strike, organized by the Ver.di labor union, disrupted operations at major airports, including Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin-Brandenburg.
Workers are demanding an 8% wage increase or a minimum raise of €350, along with three additional leave days. Employers argue that meeting these demands would strain their finances due to rising interest rates and debts. The strike is set to end at 23:59 local time.
