A huge sinkhole about 50 meters deep and 30 meters wide opened on a road under construction in Bangkok’s Dusit district, swallowing a vehicle and forcing the evacuation of a hospital, police station, and nearby homes. No casualties were reported.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt inspected the site, saying the collapse may be linked to metro tunnel works and heavy rainfall. Authorities warned repairs could take at least a year
