Türkiye is rapidly rebuilding cities hit by the February 2023 earthquakes, with 300,000 homes now completed. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister Murat Kurum will hand over the keys at a ceremony in Malatya on September 6.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change said over 304,000 independent units, including residences, workplaces, and village houses, have been delivered so far. Reconstruction continues across 11 provinces, with the total expected to reach nearly 453,000 units by year’s end.
Malatya has become the largest construction hub, with more than 28,000 homes and workplaces under construction in İkizce alone. Alongside housing, new schools, mosques, and bazaars are also being built to revive the region.
