A large solar flare, initially predicted to peak in six months to a year, occurred yesterday. Visible from Earth, the explosion briefly disrupted radio communications and was big enough to encompass 20 Earth-sized planets. Despite its size, the flare was not directed towards Earth, leading experts to suggest we had a “close call.” The flare is classified as an X-class explosion, representing the most intense category of solar flares. An amateur astrophotographer from Edirne, Türkiye also observed and captured this extraordinary solar event.
