A medallion featuring Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II was put up for auction at the “Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds including Oriental Rugs and Carpets” auction organized by Christie’s Auction House in London, the capital of England. The medallion, cast in Naples in 1481 by the Italian artist Constanzo da Ferrara, sold for GBP 38,000.

Columbia University has agreed to pay $221 million in settlements following a federal investigation into allegations of failing to protect Jewish students. Under the agreement, the university will pay $200 million over the next three years. Interim President Claire Shipman called the settlement a significant step after a period of federal scrutiny.

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon praised Columbia’s reforms as a model for other universities, while President Trump expressed satisfaction with the historic settlement. The university also announced disciplinary actions against over 70 students involved in pro-Palestinian protests, including suspensions and expulsions.
