This year’s version of the Mercedes-Benz Rally started from Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul under the name of the 100th Anniversary Republic Rally, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. In the scope of the event, a total of 100 classic cars, 47 of which are Mercedes-Benz brands, the oldest of which is a 1952 model and the youngest a 1993 model, will follow the Black Sea coast of Istanbul for 250 kilometers.
“The Republic Rally will start from Çırağan Palace today with 100 vehicles. A thousand classical vehicles and 237 competitors, including 80 women, will accompany us. We will witness the journey of the automobile from past to present on the streets of Istanbul,” said Mercedes-Benz Automotive Executive Board and Automobile Group Chairman Şükrü Bekdikhan.
