Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey completed the preparations at the public beaches including Kızkalesi and Susanoğlu which have blue flag beaches. The places offer isolated sunbeds, and the increased number of showers, toilets, and changing rooms. They are disinfected regularly to serve the best comfort and hygiene for visitors.
On the final day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, traffic came to a standstill at the Kocaeli crossing of the Northern Marmara Highway as thousands began returning to Istanbul.
Congestion intensified due to occasional accidents and vehicle breakdowns. Gendarmerie and highway crews are working continuously to keep traffic flowing. Aerial footage showed long lines of vehicles stretching along the route.
