The Renaissance artist Michelangelo’s drawing, which was rediscovered years later, was auctioned off by Christie’s in Paris, France’s capital. The Italian artist’s work was auctioned off for €23,162,000.
Michelangelo’s drawing was last auctioned in 1907, when it was discovered years later in a French collection. The piece is said to be a replica of the fresco “The Baptism of the Neophytes” by Italian painter Masaccio, which can be found in the Brancacci church in Florence.
