Despite spring rainfall, Lake Van’s water levels remain below desired levels. Microbialites, formations akin to coral reefs, have emerged as water receded due to climate-induced drought. These formations, described as “underwater fairy chimneys,” are becoming prominent in İncekaya village, Tatvan district. They are attracting attention in diving tourism due to their unique appearance. Aerial views reveal the scale of water withdrawal and showcase the visual beauty of these newly formed microbialites.
