The “High Security Removal Center” built in Kütahya for foreigners who disrupt public order in Turkey and stay in the country illegally, will become operational within 2 months. Kütahya Provincial Immigration Administration Deputy Director Nesrin Küçük noted that the construction work on the center, which has been ongoing for 2 years, has been completed. Küçük said, “The Removal Center in Kütahya has a capacity of 400 people. The center has been under construction for 2 years. There are 73 security guards, 2 drivers, 18 cleaning staff. Two technicians and new units such as food engineers, barbers and hairdressers will be opened. The center will be operational in two months at the latest,” she said.

On the final day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, traffic came to a standstill at the Kocaeli crossing of the Northern Marmara Highway as thousands began returning to Istanbul.
Congestion intensified due to occasional accidents and vehicle breakdowns. Gendarmerie and highway crews are working continuously to keep traffic flowing. Aerial footage showed long lines of vehicles stretching along the route.
