A janissary band concert, a guard regiment rifle group show and an official parade were held within the scope of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, attended by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Cypriot President Ersin Tatar and other top ministers and officials in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The operation in question was launched by the Turkish armed forces in order to regain control after the coup that broke out in Cyprus in 1974.
