A Myanmar military plane carrying 14 individuals veered off the runway at Lengpui Airport in Mizoram, northeastern India. Indian military officials reported that eight soldiers sustained injuries, and the plane’s fuselage cracked upon entering a bush area. The injured soldiers have been transported to the hospital. According to Indian authorities, the plane arrived to repatriate soldiers who sought refuge in India amid recent conflicts in Myanmar.

Over the past two months, around 700 Myanmar soldiers crossed into India following unrest near the borders. India has started the process of returning soldiers, with 276 Myanmar soldiers arriving last week, of which 184 were sent back.
