A forest fire near Pennes-Mirabeau, close to Marseille, France, has injured 110 people, including nine firefighters and 22 police officers, according to Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau.
About 800 firefighters are battling the fast-spreading blaze, which was fueled by strong winds and dry vegetation. The fire began from a burning vehicle and has scorched 700 hectares so far.
Residents were advised to stay indoors unless ordered to evacuate. Around 400 people have already been evacuated.
President Emmanuel Macron expressed support for emergency crews and urged the public to follow safety advisories. Marseille-Provence Airport was temporarily closed for firefighting operations.
