Authorities in Japan’s Yamagata Prefecture said they found another dead body in the floodwaters, which also hit Akita Prefecture. It was detected that the body belonged to one of the 2 police officers who were swept away by the flood with their vehicles while on their way to call for help. The search for 2 missing people continues.
At least 866 structures, 750 in Yamagata Prefecture and 116 in Akita Prefecture, have been reportedly damaged so far.
