Moment Appears to Show Russian Naval Commander’s Car Bombing

A bomb attack targeted the vehicle of Valery Trankovsky, commander of missile and landing ships for Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, in Sevastopol, Crimea, on November 13. Footage showed a homemade explosive detonating under his car as it was in motion.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) detained two suspects, a 38-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, allegedly acting on orders from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). According to the FSB, one suspect conducted surveillance to track Trankovsky’s movements, while the other assembled and planted the explosive. Both suspects reportedly confessed.

Trankovsky, identified by Ukrainian media as a commander linked to missile strikes on Ukraine, has been labeled a “war criminal” for his alleged role in targeting residential areas.
