Yesterday in Fatih’s Balat neighborhood, Istanbul, a playful monkey surprised onlookers as it leaped from tree branches to pavement, briefly delighting citizens before scampering away in fear. Pedestrians were amazed to see the monkey standing on the paving stones, prompting some to try and capture the moment on camera. The monkey’s antics continued as it climbed back up the tree and playfully moved from branch to branch before returning to the ground, where some amused citizens tried to interact with it. However, the monkey quickly fled when it felt frightened, leaving behind a moment of unexpected excitement in the neighborhood.

Alperen Uslu, an amateur angler off the coast of Antalya’s Manavgat district in Türkiye, captured footage of a 15-meter sperm whale 10 miles from Side Harbor. Uslu, who often shares his encounters on social media, described how they maintained a respectful distance, filming from 50 meters away. The whale, possibly separated from its herd, dived into the deep blue, showing its tail. Uslu noted that the whale species feeds on plankton and was not harmful.
